United finally complete signing of Sancho

Manchester United have finally announced the signing of Jadon Sancho in what has been one of the longest running transfer saga’s of the last few years. In what seemed like an infinite “Will they, won’t they” loop with previous transfer flop Ed Woodward trying the transfer sealed, it appears they have finally got the job done.

Sancho, 21, scored 50 goals and registered 64 assists in four seasons with Borussia Dortmund. The England International was part of the squad that reached the final of Euro 2020.

Jadon Sancho said:

“I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first team football, although I always knew that I would return to England one day. The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League. This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve. I am looking forward to working with the Manager and his coaching team to further develop my game.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said:

“Jadon epitomises the type of player I want to bring to the club, he is a forward player in the best traditions of Manchester United. He will form an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him blossom. His goals and assists records speak for themselves and he will also bring tremendous pace, flair and creativity to the team.

“Old Trafford will give him the platform he needs to release his untapped talent and perform at the highest level. For a player of his age, Jadon has already achieved a great deal and showed the courage to go and prove himself abroad. We all look forward to welcoming Jadon to the squad as we prepare for the new campaign.”

Arsenal Full Back Saed Kolasinac is expected to move to Marseille in the summer when his contract expires. Kolasinac has been a bit part player under Mikel Arteta and will not be offered a new contract.

Ajax are leading the race to sign Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn, who is considered surplus to requirements by Antonio Conte.

Aston Villa are in pole position to sign Lucas Digne according to Sky Sports. The Everton full back has fallen out with manager Rafa Benitez and is eager to play under Steven Gerrard.

Lorenzo Insigne has signed a pre contract agreement with MLS side Toronto Fc. Insigne will join in the summer after his last campaign with Napoli ending an incredible 16 year stint making him the highest ever earner in MLS history

Diego Godin is expected to terminate his contract with Cagliari in a bid to join Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro.

Aaron Ramsay could make a shock return to Arsenal in January with Mikel Arteta looking to bolster his midfield. The Gunners are also said to be interested in Bruno Guimaraes and Arthur Melo but both players could be out of reach in January.

Sergio Oliveira is expected to complete a move to Jose Mourinho’s Roma in the next week. The Porto star will join on an initial loan but a buy option of 15m will me installed also. This will be Roma’s second signing after taking in Ainsley Maitland Niles on loan from Arsenal.

Newcastle Utd have reportedly made a move for Burnley’s Chris Wood as they look to bring in a quick replacement for Callum Wilson who will be out of action for up to 8 weeks. The New Zealand Internation is reportedly very keen on the move.

Spurs are interested in signing Adama Traore in January. The Daily Mail reports that Antonio Conte sees the out of favour Spaniard as an ideal fit for his system.

Insigne To End Napoli Love Affair

One of football’s great romances is coming to an end as Lorenzo Insigne is set to join MLS side Toronto Fc in the summer.
Insigne will join Toronto on a free transfer when his Napoli contract expires in July.
It will mark the end of his 16-year association with the club. The 30 year old 319 times for his club scoring 89 goals along the  way.

Trippier excited by Newcastle Challenge

New recruit Kieran Trippier is relishing the challenge he’s joined at Newcastle United after completing his move from Atletico Madrid.

“I made it clear a few months ago that if I had the chance to come back to the Premier League, I would love to do so. It’s important for my family, and it’s a great opportunity,” he said.

“I’m the type of player who loves challenges; I had a challenge changing countries and leagues to go to Atletico Madrid in the first place, now I’m at Newcastle. I know the position they are in, I’m here to help on and off the field.

“I’ve got a great relationship with the manager, I’ve worked with him before, and I am the type of player who loves challenges. This is certainly a challenge and one I am excited about.”
